Hairst 'harvest' is over and we are into September, a month of spectacular sunsets, bright yellow low sun and the onset of windy weather. Shetland has had a very sunny summer and we are now looking towards winter. The northern lights have been spotted already and the last of the wild flowers are almost over.
It's time to prepare for dark nights and to get your store of peats or firewood in.
