Unst a great place for summer 2015
This season is turning out to be very successful one for Belmont House with bookings throughout most of the summer weeks and we are starting to get booked up for the autumn and winter weekends. It's great that people are taking advantage of all that is going on in Unst throughout the summer and this year we have Unstfest from the 10-19 of July. This includes many different events including a Where"s Wally Half Marathon which starts at the Belmont ferry terminal, Unst"s first human grand national, lots of arts, crafts and sporting activities mixed with plenty of good music. From 14-16th August there is the Sounds of Shetland, Sounds of America festival, being billed as the UK's most northerly music festival. Travelling to Unst from the United States this year will be Dolly Parton's guitarist Jim Salestrom, his son James, Livingston Taylor and West Coast band Marley's Ghost. There will also be a packed contingent of Shetland talent.
Many people this year have been using the house for family celebrations with comments such as “It truly was the perfect setting to celebrate my mum"s 70th birthday and was made all the more special by the beautiful surroundings”
If you still fancy visiting Belmont House this summer, we do have one week available from 18th July (the last weekend of UnstFest). Or if you fancy a short break in the week we have 24th – 28th August. Failing that why not come for a weekend from September onwards and the prices start at £450 and it can sleep up to 12. Look out for our winter programme which will be launched soon where we will be offering a variety of themed weekends that will take place in the house.
